UV Water Disinfection for Irrigation & Agriculture
The water used for large-scale playing field irrigation needs to be treated to ensure it meets regulatory standards and is safe for human contact. A correctly sized UV disinfection system is an approved method of providing safe irrigation water for local councils and other authorities.
Due to the large scale of crop production, a pathogen outbreak can have a detrimental impact on harvest volumes and crop quality leading to loss in profits. UV Guard purification systems provide farmers and operators with confidence that their irrigation water is free from plant pathogens such as bacteria, fungi, viruses and nematodes.
To ensure the correct UV system and pre-treatment is specified, we analyse potential water sources and provide UV Transmittance (UVT) testing in our laboratory. We then specify a UV system that will achieve the correct UV dose to inactivate specific microorganisms.
