UV water disinfection uses ultraviolet light to render harmful microorganisms in water inactive. 

As water flows through a UV system, it’s exposed to intense UV-C light. This light penetrates the cell walls of bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens, disrupting their DNA. 

This disruption prevents the microorganisms from reproducing and causing infections, effectively neutralising them.
