Ozone Destruction
UV treatment is an effective, safe and sustainable solution in the destruction of residual Ozone in a variety of applications.
Ozone Destruction using UV Treatment
Ozonation is a common technology used in drinking water treatment, food & beverage, biotechnology, pharmaceutical and other manufacturing industries. It forms part of pre-treatment stages of water treatment where it destroys microorganisms and degrades organic contaminants. However, when excessive residual ozone remains it can cause corrosion problems to downstream infrastructure and unwanted oxidation of manufactured products, in addition to health risks if left in food and drink.
How Ozone Destruction is Achieved with UV
UV treatment results in the catalysation of Ozone into Oxygen and water. In addition to removing residual Ozone, UV also acts as another disinfection barrier in the treatment process, with the only by-product being harmless Oxygen.
Due to the specialist nature of this application, each Ozone destruction or removal requirement must be discussed prior to any solution being recommended.
